Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and ClipCover (clipcover.ai), operated from Chicago, Illinois, USA. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use ClipCover.

What ClipCover does

ClipCover generates cover images from video clips you upload, link, or select from a connected Instagram account. Output quality depends on the source material, and generated covers are suggestions: you choose what to publish. Our Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled and is part of these terms.

Your account

You need an account for most features. Keep your login credentials to yourself and tell us if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Plans and billing

• Free plan: a limited number of watermarked covers, no card required.
• Pro plan: a paid subscription billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. It renews automatically until you cancel.
• Canceling: cancel anytime from your account page. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, and you will not be charged again.
• Price changes: if we change prices, we will tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next billing period.

Your content

You keep all rights to the clips you provide and the covers you generate. You give us permission to process your clips solely to run the service (generating covers, as described in the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload, link, or select, including music, footage, and other people's likenesses.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• process content you do not have the rights to use;
• upload content that is illegal, or generate covers intended to deceive or defame;
• probe, overload, or interfere with the service, or bypass plan limits;
• resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Instagram connection

Connecting an Instagram account is optional and uses Meta's official API. Your use of Instagram remains governed by Meta's own terms. ClipCover is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta or Instagram. You can disconnect at any time as described in the Privacy Policy.

Our property

The ClipCover software, design, brand, and everything that makes the service run belong to us. These terms give you a personal right to use the service, not a license to copy or rebuild it.

Service changes and availability

We improve ClipCover continuously and may change or retire features. We aim for reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability, and the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipCover is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Termination

You can stop using ClipCover and request account deletion at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content responsibilities, liability limits, governing law) survive termination.

Changes to these terms

If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, note it in the product. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, and disputes will be handled in the courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
